Litany of the Holy Angels Taken From Sacred Scripture
Angeli

For private use only. The litany below is taken from a 1670 edition of the Paradisus Animae Christianae. The Paradisus Animae was compiled by Jacob Merlo Horst(1597 - 1644), a parish priest of Cologne and published in 1644. Each line of the Litany is taken from a particular event in Sacred Scripture in which angels played an important role. The translation is taken from an English version of the work, The Paradise of the Soul, printed for J. Sharrock, Walton, 1771. The book notes that the translation was done in 1720 by "T.M.". The Psalm extracts were omitted in this English edition. A translation of those lines has been supplied.
