Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
Angeli

From the Paradisus Animae Christianae. From Section II, on the veneration of the Saints.

O SAINT Michael the Archangel, Prince of the heavenly host, thou who always standest in aid of the people of God, and who fought against the great Dragon, the ancient Serpent, and cast him out of heaven, and who strongly defendest the Church of God so that the gates of hell may not prevail against it; I implore thee from the depths of my heart, that thou mayest also assist me in this difficult and dangerous battle, which I, a fragile and defenseless creature, must wage against the same enemy.
Tu esto mecum, O Princeps fortissime, ut superbo Draconi, quem tu virtute divina gloriose vicisti, quemque Christus supremus Rex noster, in assumpta nostra natura prostravit, fortiter resistere, eique feliciter praevalere possim; et ita de hoste triumphans una tecum, et cum sanctis Angelis iugiter laudem Dei clementiam, qui quidem Angelis malis post peccati ruinam, iusto iudicio negavit misericordiam; nobis tamen hominibus post lapsum, tam misericorditer resurgere dedit ad gratiam. Amen. Be with me, O most powerful Prince, that I may bravely resist the proud Dragon, whom thou didst gloriously defeat by divine strength, and whom Christ, our supreme King, in our assumed nature, has overthrown, and that I may happily prevail against him; and thus, triumphing over the enemy together with thee and with the holy Angels, I may continually praise the mercy of God, who indeed, in His just judgment, denied mercy to the fallen angels after their ruin by sin, but granted us humans, after our fall, the merciful grace to rise again. Amen.
